Rising Strong: Towards a More Resilient Philippines

Filipinos are known to be resilient people, because no matter how hard life gets and how many disasters we may encounter, we are able to withstand and recover from it. As we know the Philippines is a country with many beautiful island tourist attractions and beautiful features, however, according to NCBI (NATIONAL CENTER FOR BIOTECHNOLOGY INFORMATION), the Philippines is also one of the top countries in the world at risk of climate-related disasters, we are vulnerable to typhoons, earthquakes volcanic eruptions and more.

Earthquakes are not uncommon herein the Philippines, because it is situated along the Pacific Ring of Fire, whereas on July 27, 2022, in Abra, a province here in the Philippines was struck by a 7.3 magnitude earthquake, that destroyed some parts of Abra, herein vigan, most of our tourist attractions are damaged because of this destructive phenomena,

Thankfully, immediate response among local authorities, first responders, and government agencies quickly assessed the situation, built evacuation centers and began relief efforts to aid those who are affected. this response reflect the resilience of the people in abra and other places that are affected by the earthquake.

Filipinos are known to be resilient, because, we don't give up no matter what happens, as the sign of our resilience we prepare ourselves for any disasters may come herein the Philippines, one example is the early warning systems,  this serves us a signal to prepare and to evacuate when necessary. Another example is the disaster management planning, wherein we plan what we will do before, during and after a certain disaster.

But how will we enhance our abilities towards a more resilient Philippines? now a days our government is working on climate change mitigation where, we reduce our carbon footprint and doing reforestation activities and also promoting a sustainable agricultural practices.

in conclusion, Philippines is making a significant step toward a more resilient nation, through important disaster preparedness, this country is working to protect its unique and natural beauty As the nation continues its journey, to build a better, more resilient Philippines.
